| Secondly, the patterns
preserved in electronic format do not lose their colour and pattern
with time, so that we can make electronic herbariums, sign names
(the name of the place, where the pattern had been found), time
and all the necessary information. The scanner will be supplied
with corresponding software. But the most important thing is that
Herba Scanner teaches to treat nature with care with the use of
the up-to-date digital technologies.
Scanner set-up:
This is an off-line working device, charging of which is carried
out with the help of accumulator batteries. All the collected information
is saved on a memory card, from which or from the scanner itself
all the shots can be transferred into PC through the USB-port for
the further information processing.
The project was designed specially for OSAKA Design competition
2005 and was finally selected by the commission and included in
the list of the best articles presented.
